For years, people filed into the dark basement of 124 Church Street to get their weekly dose of sweat, alcohol, and tinnitus. It became a haven for original alternative music which found both legends and amateurs alike hunched over to carry their amps down the same flight of narrow stairs. Like venues that came before, the fate of the Court Tavern was in a constant swing and from 2012-2015 a new group of friends showed up to make the most out of a grimy New Brunswick basement. New Jersey photographer Greg Pallante shot pictures of all of it. "Nobodies Listening" documents the energy and excitement of those shows as Greg put his camera and body right in the middle of it. Flip through some of the insanity that features bands like Samiam, The Bouncing Souls, Screaming Females, The Menzingers, The Scandals, Chuck Ragan, Big Eyes, Let Me Run, Ex Number Five, and so many more. Though 100 pages will never capture the feeling of being piled on top of 300 strangers like a bloomin onion, but it'll shake the brain fog and remind you that yes, it actually happened.
